Motivation

Jim Furyk has proven that the best way to make a name for yourself in a sport is to play it your own way. His swing certainly does not follow any of the established technical methods, but despite that, he still manages to be one of the top golf players of the past 10 years, and the uniqueness of his own method has helped him earn the nicknames of The Businessman and The Grinder.

Born in West Chester, Pennsylvania, Jim Furyk began turning heads with his golf game while playing on his high school team and then went on to hone his skills at the University of Arizona. In 1992, Jim Furyk appearances on the PGA Tour began when he turned professional. Throughout his career thus far, he has amassed an impressive record of 26 professional wins, including a victory in the 2003 U.S. Open. He twice finished fourth in The Masters Tournament.

For all of these impressive Jim Furyk appearances on the golf course, Jim Furyk has been on the receiving end of many different awards, including the Vardon Trophy in 2006, the Fed Ex Cup Champion in 2010 and the PGA Tour Player of the Year in 2010. All told, on the PGA Tour, Jim Furyk appearances have resulted in him winning more than $48 million in prize money. He has also repeatedly added Jim Furyk appearances to the U.S. National team in the Ryder Cup, Presidents Cup and World Cup.
