Dr. Long is a dynamic actress, role model, and a mentor to children and young adults from elementary school to college. Loretta is best known for the role she has created as Susan on Sesame Street; on which she has appeared for thirty years. She has toured all over the United States as a motivational and topical speaker.

Dr. Long is a teacher with experience in Detroit, Yonkers and the New York city public school system.

A graduate of the University Massachusetts, with a doctorate in Education, Loretta=s dissertation was based on a study which used Sesame Street as a model for teaching preschoolers via television and mass media.

Loretta is a principal character and an original human cast member on the Children’s Television Workshop program Sesame Street. She is an accomplished entertainer who has performed in the State and abroad. As an entertainer she has appeared on Broadway shows such as, Guys and Dolls, and Sweet Charity, and in such films as Cotton Comes to Harlem, Husbands and the Out of Towners. Her television appearance include Soul, the Dick Cavett Show, the Flip Wilson show and the Today show.
