O’Malley’s multifaceted career includes thirteen years as a professional paramedic and firefighter, where he was featured on the CBS program Rescue 911, and service as a police officer, SWAT team member trained at the FBI Academy, and mountain rescue team leader. He developed innovative rescue equipment and techniques that influenced the direction of heavy rescue in the Fire Service. His adventures have taken him on expeditions across Africa, Asia, North America, South America, and the Himalayas.
