A record-breaker at the Atlanta Paralympics Games in 1996, Aimee Mullins has built a career as a model, actor and activist for women, sports and the next generation of prosthetics.

First celebrated in the media for her extraordinary athletic accomplishments, Aimee was the first member of a NCAA Division I track team with a “disability,” forging a new path as a double below-the-knee amputee ultimately setting World Records in the 100-meter dash and the long jump. She heralded a new age in prosthetic technology by being the first athlete to use the now-famous “cheetah legs.” Following the games, she established herself as a groundbreaking model on the fashion runways of the world, redefining traditional notions of beauty and body image. Her subsequent collaborations with some of the world’s leading visual artists continue today, with exhibitions featuring her in the Guggenheim Museum, the Smithsonian, the Tate Modern and the Musee d’Art Moderne in Paris. With a burgeoning film and stage career, Aimee is continuing to be an important voice for a generation of young women, as she also serves on a number of non-profit boards, including her recent tenure as president of the Women’s Sports Foundation, founded by Billie Jean King. Exuding passion and authenticity, Aimee’s message is as powerful as it is elegant – she shares with audiences how to put their fears aside in order to turn adversity into advantage. A compelling and unique voice for anyone who seeks success against the odds, Aimee shows us how to achieve the impossible with grace, confidence, and strength.
