Speaker and master commentator Joseph Francis “Joe” Buck is a well-known sportscaster who has won numerous Emmy Awards for his distinctive play-by-play work with Fox Sports. Beginning his broadcasting career in 1989, while still an undergraduate at Indiana University, he has served as an announcer for various sports, including baseball, basketball, and football.

Following in his father’s footsteps, legendary broadcaster and national radio hall of famer, Jack Buck, Joe Buck also regularly provided television and radio broadcasts for the Major League baseball team, the St. Louis Cardinals. His skill spoke for itself, and in 1994 he became the youngest man ever to announce a regular slate of National Football League games on network television.

During the nineties, Buck hosted a weekly sports-news show, as well as calling horse racing, professional bass fishing events, and even the Cotton Bowl Classic college football game in 1999. He has also guest-hosted an episode of the E! television network’s off the cuff Talk Soup program. Since 2001, he has hosted the “Joe Buck Classic”, a celebrity pro-am golf tournament benefiting the St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Buck also contributes opinion pieces to Sporting News magazine and is a key contributor on the all-sports radio station Team 1380 on the ITD Morning After program in St. Louis, Missouri.

He has also made several television appearances, including the HBO comedy series Eastbound & Down, as well as appearing in Holiday Inn and Budweiser commercials (in which he coined the slam dunk of a catchphrase “Slamma-lamma-ding-dong”), and Conan O’Brien’s Late Night show.
