Bowden became the head football coach at Auburn University in 1993 and immediately led the Tigers to an undefeated season, the only major college coach in history to accomplish that feat in his first year. Over his Auburn tenure, he compiled a 47-17-1 record. He went on to coach at the University of Akron and has been one of the most recognizable faces in college football broadcasting, serving as an analyst for ESPN and ABC Sports. He graduated from West Virginia University and earned a law degree from Florida State.
