During his 15-year NFL career with the San Francisco 49ers, Steve earned Super Bowl XXIX MVP, Sports Illustrated and Sporting News Player of the Year (1992–1994), and NFL MVP (1992, 1994). Inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2005 as the first left-handed quarterback, he holds the distinction of being the only quarterback to win four consecutive NFL passing titles and retired as the highest-rated passer in NFL history.
